The Atma Approach

Nutrient
Deficiencies

A reference range is a crowd average, not your requirement.

Why "in range" on a standard lab doesn't mean your body is getting what it needs.

By Dr. Neela Sandal

Mainstream Medicine's Approach Is a CBC and a Multivitamin Shrug

Tired, cracked corners of the mouth, restless legs, hair in the drain, tingling, a brain that won't start. "Eat a balanced diet." If they test at all, it's a serum level that calls ferritin 18 "fine" and B12 320 "in range." You leave with a gummy and the same symptoms you walked in with.

What Mainstream Medicine Misses

A reference range is a crowd average, not your requirement. Serum is what's circulating this morning — it's not what's stored in marrow, what your cells can actually use, or why you can't absorb a pill.

Deficiencies are usually a leak, a block, or a demand — blood loss, low stomach acid, a wrecked gut, a medication, a pregnancy, an endurance calendar. A random multivitamin does not fix the leak.

The Atma Approach looks at you as a unique person. Why is your body running short on the thing it's asking for?

Has your doctor ever talked to you about these commonly missed root causes?

Commonly Missed Root Causes

•Low stomach acid, celiac, IBD, or post-bariatric plumbing, so food never becomes a usable nutrient
•Blood loss from periods, GI drip, or donations that outrun intake year after year
•Medications that tax the stock — metformin and B12, PPIs and magnesium, the pill and B vitamins
•A diet that looks "clean" and still has no heme iron, no iodine, no actual fat-soluble vitamins
•Inflammation locking iron in storage, so the serum looks confusing and the person still gasps on stairs
•Methylation and cofactor gaps — B12, folate, B6, magnesium — that make every other system look psychiatric or thyroid
•A lab culture that treats the bottom of the reference range as a personality instead of a deficit

How Atma Clinic Can Help
